PS5, PS4, and even the trusty old PS3 and Vita users found themselves in the same boat, staring at error messages instead of loading screens.

The timing couldn’t have been worse for Call of Duty fans, who watched their double XP weekend plans for Black Ops 6 evaporate into thin air.

Social media lit up with frustrated gamers – from casual players hoping to jump into their favourite titles to hardcore grinders missing out on limited-time rewards.

While Sony remained quiet, Krispy Kreme stepped into the spotlight with a sugary solution. The doughnut chain offered free Original Glazed treats to affected gamers, dropping the perfectly timed tweet: “Calling all gamers: this play station still works 🍩.”

Sure, a doughnut couldn’t fix PSN, but it definitely made the wait more bearable.

Sony finally broke their silence on 8th February with a characteristically brief explanation, chalking it up to an “operational issue.” To make amends, they’re tossing PS Plus subscribers an extra five days of service.

However, for players without an active subscription, that gesture rings particularly hollow compared to Krispy Kreme’s universal sweet offering!

Now the PSN services have sparked back to life, current reports have dropped significantly to around 2,500 users.
